Stray bullet kills woman in Shah Faisal Colony

A woman was killed after being hit by a stray bullet in the Shah Faisal Colony area on Sunday. Another three persons were wounded in separate incidents of firing in the city.

Fauzia, 30, wife of Zahoor, died after a stray bullet hit her in a house located in Bareli Colony in the Shah Faisal Colony area. Upon receiving the information, police and rescue workers reached the house and transported the casualty to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

The family of the deceased woman told police that she was asleep on the roof of the house when the stray bullet hit and killed her.

In another firing incident, a woman was wounded in Sher Khan Muhalla within the limits of the Pirabad police station in the Orangi area. She was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The injured woman was identified as 28-year-old Marina Khan, wife of Zaib Khan. Police said a stray bullet had hit and injured her.

Separately, a teenage boy was wounded in a firing incident in Lyari within the jurisdiction of the Kalri police station. He was shifted to the Civil Hospital, Karachi. The victim was identified as 17-year-old Sameer, son of Arif. Police said he was also hit and injured by a stray bullet hit and they were carrying out investigations.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Kaleemullah, son of Iftikhar Hussain, was shot and injured in a firing incident in the Korangi area. He was shifted to the JPMC. Police said the victim was shot near his house over reasons not known yet. Further investigations are under way.
