MARDAN: Two persons were arrested for collecting donation for a religious seminary with the alleged permission of Pakistan Army and police at the Takhtbhai bazaar, police sources said on Friday.
The locals informed the police that some people had pasted poster and banner of the Pakistan Army and police official on a motorcar (RIF-7374) and collecting donation for a Madrassa. Police said the accused had told locals of the area that the authorities had permitted them to collect the donation.
A police party raided the spot and arrested two persons identified as Ahmad Ali Khan and Zafar Ali. Police said that they recovered banners and posters, identity cards, receipt book and Rs4,830 from the accused. The motorcar was taken in custody.
The police registered a case against the accused under section 419,420,468,471 and ¾ loudspeaker act and started interrogation.
