New industrial policy to create jobs, says CM

NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Friday said that the provincial government would pay about Rs5 billion annually on account of tax for industries under the recently announced industrial policy.

Speaking at a gathering after administering oath to the newly elected office-bearers of the Nowshera Press Club here, he said that the government would also provide other incentives so that no factory is closed in future in the province.

Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel, Special Assistant to chief minister on Information Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, district nazim Liaqat Khattak, Member Provincial Assembly Idrees Khattak and others were also present on the occasion.

The chief minister said the industrial policy had attracted businessmen and investors. “The investors are contacting us for establishing factories in the Hattar Industrial Estate in Haripur after the announcement of the new policy,” he added.He said the provincial government’s industrial policy would create new job opportunities.

The chief minister reiterated the pledge to streamline the faulty system and provide relief to the people. Earlier, the chief minister administered oath to the newly elected office-bearers of the press club.

The newly elected president of the press club, Mushtaq Paracha, in his welcome speech thanked the chief minister for his cooperation for the welfare of the local journalists.

He lauded the government for provision of Rs10.3 million for carrying out development work in the Nowshera Media Colony, setting up of Rs5 million endowment funds for the welfare of the members of the press club and provision of 2.17 kanal of land for the press club.
