Land dispute leaves cop injured in Bara

BARA: The additional station house officer sustained injuries in a firing incident over a land dispute in Akakhel area here on Tuesday, official sources said.

The sources said two sub-clans Margitkhel and Maroofkhel of the Akakhel Afridi tribe had a land dispute that led to an exchange of fire. They said Additional SHO Aqal Ghameen had arrived at the spot to resolve the issue through talks when the clash erupted.

He was shifted to a hospital in Peshawar in critical condition. District Police Officer Waseem Riaz also arrived with a heavy contingent of the police to stop the fighting.
