Covid-19 claims three more lives, infects 511 others
Covid-19 claimed three more lives in Sindh during the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 5,410 in the province, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said in his daily Covid-19 situation report on Saturday.
Meanwhile, 586 patients were under treatment at different hospitals, of whom condition of 530 patients was said to be critical while 54 of them had been put onto life support.
In addition to the three more deaths overnight in Sindh, 511 new cases of the viral disease emerged after 11,903 tests were conducted, that it constituted a 4.3 per cent current detection rate.
So far 4,455,130 tests had been conducted in Sindh, against which 335,538 cases were diagnosed, of which 92.7 per cent or 311,005 patients had recovered, including 909 overnight. Out of the 511 new cases, 300 were detected from Karachi, including 84 from District East, 56 District Central, 52 District Korangi, 40 District South, 39 District West and 29 District Malir. In the rest of Sindh, Hyderabad had 40 new cases, Sanghar 21, Jamshoro 18, Tando Allahyar 14, Badin 12, Matiari 11, Kashmore, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad and Thatta nine each, Jacobabad and Nauosheroferoze eight each, Dadu seven, Sujawal and Tando Muhammad Khan six each, Tharparkar
and Umerkot four each, Ghotki three, Mirpurkhas, Shikarpur and Sukkur one each.
