Two killed as gunmen storm hujra in Waziristan
MIRANSHAH: Another two people were shot dead and as many injured on Thursday in the rising incidents of lawlessness in the North Waziristan tribal district, sources said.
The official sources said that armed persons stormed a hujra (male-guesthouse) in the Khadarkhel village and opened fire on the people present there. Two people, Hakeem Khan, son of Haji Khan, and Shakir Rehman, son of Shahid Khan, were killed while Shah Behram and Haji Khan were injured in the firing. The wounded persons were shifted to the Miranshah Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
It may be mentioned here that a school headmaster and two persons, who were police constables and stated to be brothers, were shot dead in Mirali and Boya areas of North Waziristan the previous day.
Though the police had linked the killings to old enmity, the lawlessness has left the local population insecure. The spike in incidents of violence has adversely affected business activities and tourism as well.
