Punjab Assembly approves 40 demands for grant

LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Thursday gave approval to 40 demands of grant and all the cut motions moved by the opposition were rejected by majority vote. The assembly session began with a delay of over two hours with Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi in the chair. The demands for grant were approved by the House and all the motions moved by the opposition for a cut in the expenditures of the government were rejected. Provincial Minister for School Education Murad Raas grilled the opposition for destroying the province. Azma Bokhari of the PML-N was also served a defamation notice for accusing the chief minister over minting commission in the name of transfer and postings.
