China to extend support for sports complex’s upgradation

ISLAMABAD: Chinese ambassador in Islamabad H.E. Nong Rong has said that China would extend all possible cooperation to Pakistan for the upgradation of sports facilities at the Pakistan Sports Complex (PSC) in Islamabad besides extending support in training of the coaches and athletes.

The ambassador expressed these views during a meeting with Pakistan Sports Board Director General Col (r) Muhammad Asif Zaman at his office Wednesday.

The Chinese ambassador also appreciated Pakistan for taking keen interest in organising different sports events and other functions to mark the 70th anniversary of Pak-China Friendship.

Earlier, the PSB director general extended a warm welcome to the Chinese ambassador. During the meeting, the DG hoped that China would extend all-out cooperation for improving this sports infrastructure.

The director general also exchanged views with the ambassador on the post Covid-19 sports scenario and celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Pak-China diplomatic relations”.

The ambassador also visited different sports facilities available at the sports complex

Meanwhile, Asif Zaman said that the government had been actively pursuing the policy of encouraging sports heroes by providing them attractive financial incentives. He was addressing the participants during the cash distribution ceremony on the occasion of Olympic Day.
