Usman Kakar died of natural death, suggests autopsy

KARACHI: The body of the leader of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) leader and former senator Usman Khan Kakar, who died on Monday in Karachi, has no sign of torture, according to an initial postmortem report.

Senior leader of the PKMAP Usman Khan Kakar had fallen in his Quetta house a few days ago after which he was seriously injured. His postmortem was conducted at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Though the initial autopsy report suggests that Kakar’s body had no sign of torture in his body; however, the doctors were waiting for the pathology report to ascertain the actual cause of death.

The body of the former senator was handed over to his family for burial.

Earlier, the PkMAP’s personal physician said that Kakar had received a head injury at his residence in Quetta. He was shifted to hospital for treatment where he was put on a ventilator. Kakar was then brought to Aga Khan University in Karachi through an air ambulance.
