KARACHI: In a shocking incident, two pet dogs attacked and left badly injured an advocate at the upscale Defence Housing Authority. The incident took place on June 16, when the advocate Mirza Akhtar Ali was out for a morning walk at Phase VI, Khayaban-e-Sehar within the limits of Darakshan Police Station, but, it was brought into wider public notice after its CCTV footage went viral on the social media on Monday (yesterday). The CCTV footage shows two German Shepherds attacking the advocate ferociously, pulled him down and continued to maul him despite restraining efforts by the dogs' handler to save the victim. The injured and shaken lawyer was taken to a private hospital for treatment. Later, he registered a case against the owner of the dogs at the Darakshan Police Station but he could not be arrested as he had acquired bail from court.
Recording his statement in the FIR, the complainant said, that his arms and ribs were badly hurt and damaged in the attack and nobody came to help him despite some people were walking on the street who instead ran away from the scene. Further investigations are underway.
