Dip in water inflow at major rivers

LAHORE:There has been a dip in water inflow at major rivers following reduction in temperature in the catchment areas.

According to daily water report issued by Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) on Monday, the position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages is as under: Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 97800 cusecs and Outflows 155000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 42800 cusecs and Outflows 42800 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 48400 cusecs and Outflows 25000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 35200 cusecs and Outflows 5000 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 187900 cusecs and Outflows 179900 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows: 208100 cusecs and Outflows 193000 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 189500 cusecs and Outflows 163200 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 13600 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 142400 cusecs and Outflows 110100 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 97000 cusecs and Outflows 44900 cusecs Kotri: Inflows 28900 cusecs and Outflows 400 cusecs.

Reservoirs (Level and Storage): Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1392 feet, present level 1455.31 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage 1.351 million acre feet (MAF).

Mangla: Minimum operating level 1050 feet, present level 1153.50 feet,

maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage 1.921 MAF.
