LAHORE: PMLN MPA Ramesh Singh Arora on Saturday said the PTI government has failed to make by-laws of the Anand Karaj Act (Sikh marriage act passed by the PA in 2017).
Speaking on the floor of the Punjab Assembly, Arora, a PMLN MPA, stated that Pakistan is the first country in the world, which introduced legislation for the registration of Sikh marriages. Arora, who is also the first Sikh MPA of Punjab in the post-Partition era, said the government also failed to make by-laws of the Hindu and Christian Marriage Acts that is the reflection of its failure in giving rights to the minorities.
Meanwhile, three PMLN minority MPAs Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Ramesh Singh and Tariq Gill walked out of the House as protest for not giving them chance to express their views in the budget session.
