‘Economy improving under PM’s leadership’
LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal Saturday visited Chauburji Quarters Ground and Dungi Ground at Samanabad to review the rehabilitation work on Chauburji Quarters Ground and improvement of Dungi Ground.
I&C Secretary Ehsan Bhatta, LDA DG Ahmed Aziz Tarar, LDA Chief engineer and directors of PHA were also present.
While talking to the media, the provincial minister said that Chauburji Quarters Ground had been in a bad condition for the last six years. This important ground was being used as a dumping station for the metro project. He said The Chauburji Quarters Ground would be fully rehabilitated in the next one and a half months. The MA O’College Ground which had been useless for the last 20 years has also been rehabilitated, he said. “Improvement and rehabilitation work on all the grounds of the provincial constituency 151 is in full swing. We are grateful to Chief Minister Usman Bazdar for provision of funds for the rehabilitation of the grounds,” the minister said.
The provincial minister while talking to the people at Dungi Ground Samanabad said that 3.94 per cent growth rate of the economy was the result of the hard work of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The national economy is improving while the economy of looters of national resources is sinking, he added.
The PML-N is not concerned about the country but it is worried due to its own sinking economy, the provincial minister said. The PML-N did not allow the welfare schemes for the poor to be completed for many years due to personal obstinacy but the PTI government has also completed 8,000 schemes of previous governments. Mian Aslam Iqbal said the PML-N, which made false claims of development, put Punjab under heavy debt of Rs 1,200 billion.
He said exports were more than 25 billion dollars in the PTI era despite COVID-19 epidemic. He said more than Rs 56 billion in tax relief were given to the business community during the pandemic. The budget of the province for the new financial year is a reflection of the aspirations of the people and the historic annual development programme of Rs 560 billion will usher in a new era of development in Punjab, he concluded.
