According to a UN report, electronic waste dismantling and recycling is considered a major health hazard in Pakistan. The country produced 433 kilotons of e-waste last year. Karachi is the major location for e-waste recycling and dismantling. Even though India is also struggling to deal with large quantities of e-waste, it at least has an e-waste regulation policy. Pakistani authorities should pay attention to this matter on an urgent basis and draft a policy to regulate e-waste.
