Two accused involved in molesting teenager held

BANNU: The police arrested two accused involved in molesting a teenager, making his video and then blackmailing his family in the limits of Ghoriwala Police Station on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference, District Police Officer Imran Shahid said that two accused identified as Asadullah and Asghar Khan, residents of Machankhel in Ghoriwala, had sexually assaulted a14-year old boy. He said that the accused had also filmed the objectionable act on their mobiles and repeatedly blackmailed the family. The DPO said that the accused demanded Rs70,000 from the family by blackmailing it to upload it on to social media.

The father of the victim boy who, he said, was a poor labourer borrowed Rs40,000 from someone and gave it to the accused. However, he said the accused demanded Rs30,000 more and threatened the family that the objectionable video would be circulated on social media if the money was not arranged.

The official said that the father approached the police and registered a report of the crime on his report. He said that the accused were arrested within a few hours after the registration of a case under relevant sections of law.
