Four killed in Haripur incidents
HARIPUR: Four persons, including a minor boy, were killed in different parts of the district, police said on Monday.
The police said that Shams-ur-Rahman 8, a resident of Islamabad had come to live with his grandmother in village Julian where he went along with his cousins to have a bath in a canal of Khanpur dam and drowned.
One Zaheer Ali, a student of a university in Rawalpindi, drowned while swimming in the Khanpur dam. Police said that Ehtesham Haider, a resident of village Vijiyan in Khanpur tehsil, had gone missing two days ago.
On Sunday evening, the local people spotted his body in a canal of Khanpur dam. His family, however, termed it murder and registered a case. In village Qazi Pur in Ghazi tehsil, a farmer identified as Rameez was irrigating his fields from the water of an overhead water tank constructed near his home. However, the cemented water tank fell on him, burying him under the debris. The local people recovered his body from the debris after half an hour. A man was injured in the incident, police said.
