CDA to improve water management system
Islamabad : Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Aamir Ali Ahmed on Saturday held a meeting with Chairman of Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), Dr. Muhammad Ashraf to improve water management system in Islamabad.
The meeting discussed short-term and long-term projects to improve water reservoirs and underground water levels in the federal capital. It was decided to create 100 recharge wells and 20 observatory wells in Islamabad.
The CDA Chairman also directed to prepare Rs56 million PC-1 of sprinkling system for greenbelts of the Islamabad Expressway and Srinagar Highway to stop wastage of water. It was also decided to seek cooperation of the private sector for storage of rainwater by introducing rainwater harvesting system.
In order to introduce the latest water management system, it was decided appointment Deputy Director General Water Management CDA, Sardar Khan Zimri and Dr. Naveed Iqbal, a senior officer of PCRWR as focal persons.
