JUI seeks arrest of murder bid accused
BARA: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) on Saturday asked the government to arrest the accused who were behind the murder attempt on its leaders.
Speaking at a press conference here, JUI leaders including Maulana Shamsuddin, former federal minister Hameedullah Jan Afridi, Said Kabir Afridi and others demanded arrest of the accused behind the murder attempt on Maulana Luqman Hakeem and Maulana Shah Mahmood
They said the JUI will stage a protest outside the Bara Police Station if the accused were not arrested forthwith.
They added that targeted killings and robberies were taking place in Bara, but the no steps were being taken to bring the situation under control.
“The security situation is deteriorating day by day in Bara,” Maulana Shamsuddin said.
He asked the IGP to order the DPO Khyber to take action against anti-social elements to improve the law and order.
Former federal minister Hameedullah Jan Afridi said that it was the duty of the police to provide protection to the people and bring the accused to justice.
