LAHORE: Senior Provincial Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan called on Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar at Governor’s House on Wednesday. Political and administrative issues were discussed during the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Ch Sarwar said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has emerged as the representative of Muslim world against Islamophobia. The opposition’s refusal to support electoral reforms is tantamount to support rigging in the elections, adding that the government will fulfill its promise of giving the right to vote to overseas Pakistanis.

The governor said that the opposition was unable to tolerate the country's economic growth, and it is trying to mislead the nation through negative propaganda. However, the public has rejected the opposition’s narrative and they stand with the government, he added. He further said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan has made the all-out effort to contain the spread of coronavirus and Pakistan has achieved the milestone of 10 million COVID vaccination today.

Ch Sarwar said that the politics of the PDM Alliance is over. Imran Khan will complete the last day of his constitutional term as the Prime Minister, and the political opponents should wait patiently for the next general elections. He said that the government believes in transparency and merit and will continue to implement it across various sectors.

The governor said that the government was keen on giving the right to vote to overseas Pakistanis because they have played a significant role in the country’s development, he added. Senior Provincial Minister Abdul Aleem Khan on this occasion said that the protests and threats of the opposition do not pose any threat to the government as 220 million Pakistanis have reposed full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He maintained that the government is bringing reforms in all sectors, and it is being duly acknowledged by the farmers as well as other stakeholders as they are commending the policies of the government and Pakistan is moving in the right direction.
