LAHORE:The provincial metropolis remained in the grip of heat wave as mercury reached 44.1°C here on Wednesday.
Met officials said seasonal low lies over north-west of Balochistan and its adjoining areas while continental air was likely to prevail over most parts of the country during next two days. They predicted hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country while very hot in plain areas. They also predicted heavy rainfall in the provincial metropolis and adjoining cities during the coming Saturday and Sunday. Wednesday's maximum temperature was recorded at Nokkundi, Dalbandin and Peshawar where mercury reached 48°C while in Lahore, it was 44.1°C and minimum was 30.5°C.
