LAHORE:Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Tuesday that political deceit and lies did not serve any purpose and that was the reason that opposition was facing disappointment due to ignoring national interest.

In a statement, the chief minister regretted that the opposition hindered the journey of the country’s development. The government was moving forward despite difficulties and the people have also rejected the negative elements, he added. The irresponsible behaviour of the opposition leaders will not be forgotten by the people, he said and regretted that the opposition had always shown duality on every occasion. The opposition has proved that its politics was not based on any principles and it was also apathetic towards the people’s welfare, he maintained.

This political cabal has no respect for the people and it would always face defeat, he said. He said the corrupt had no worth before an honest and trustworthy leader like Imran Khan, adding that politics of development and public service would prevail in the country.

Orders completion of uplift schemes Sardar Usman Buzdar has issued orders for completing development schemes on time as timely completion of welfare projects would benefit people.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the CM made it clear that no compromise would be made on the quality of development schemes. The government was the custodian of the national exchequer and no violation of the rules would be allowed, he added. The public sector departments, failing to timely utilise the development funds, would be held accountable, he said and directed the officers concerned to inspect the development work in the field.

The quality of development schemes should also be ensured as people were the prime beneficiary, he added.

Condemns attack: The chief minister strongly condemned attack on a Pakistani family in Ontario, Canada, in which four members of a family have lost their lives. Extending sympathies to the heirs of victims, the CM said that Pakistanis fully shared grief and pain. It was a highly condemnable incident, in which the terrorist had exhibited the worst brutality by attacking innocent human beings, he stated. This tragic incident had hurt the feelings of Pakistani community and there was a need to take strong steps to stop such incidents in the West, he added.
