SUKKUR: As many as eight people, including a woman, were killed in dust storm rain-related incidents in Sukkur region.
Reports said the dust storm with lightning caused multiple damages, including uprooting trees, electric poles, signboards and collapsing roofs of houses as well in Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Naushahro Feroze, Dadu, Moro and other cities.
After such chaos, the power supply remained suspended in many cities, including Khairpur, Sukkur, Kandyaro and others, though later the Hesco officials partially restored the supply in Sukkur and Khairpur.
Reports said a woman, identified as Farzana, w/o Javed Solangi, was killed when the roof of her house collapsed in Tharo Shah in district Naushahro Feroze, while three other men, identified as Ahmed Ali, s/o Gul Meer Kolachi, Dilawar Kolachi and Abdul Nabi Kolachi, were also killed due to collapsing roofs in Mehar, district Dadu.
Villagers succeeded to rescue three people who were buried due to roof collapse. Reports said a man Abdul Hafeez Deepar was killed due to a collapsing wall of his house, while a boy Nusrat Chandio was killed when a solar panel fell on him in Kandyaro, Naushahro Feroze. Reports said a woman was killed and two others were injured due to roof collapse incidents in Pano Aqil, Sukkur.
