Woman operated upon by security guard dies

LAHORE:An elderly woman, who had undergone surgery by a fake doctor at Mayo Hospital a few days ago, died here on Sunday.

The woman, Shamim, was taken to Mayo Hospital for treatment due to a back injury. A security guard named Waheed Butt operated upon her by impersonating a doctor. The woman’s wound got worsened and bleeding and pain did not stop. She was taken to the hospital again for treatment where the truth came out.

Man dies in hospital: A 45-year old man, who was found unconscious in the Chuhng area a few days ago, expired in hospital on Sunday. The victim, yet to be identified, was admitted to hospital but could not recover. Edhi volunteers shifted the body to the morgue.

Body found: The body of a 25-year old man was recovered from Dharampura Bridge in the Mughalpura area on Sunday. Some passersby spotted the body lying on Dharampura Bridge and informed the police. Body, yet to be identified, was shifted to morgue. Meanwhile, The body of a 65-year old man was found dead in the limits of Islampura police on Sunday.

The victim was known as Malang in the area. Some passersby spotted the body lying on Band Road and informed the Islampura police. Edhi volunteers shifted the body to the morgue.

Two arrested: Shahdara Investigation police arrested two accused wanted in power theft and cheque dishonour cases. Ghulam Farid was wanted by the police for one year in a case of power theft and Muhammad Usman in a cheque dishonour case.
