Violating SOPs SI fires at vehicle, injures two
ISLAMABAD: Two vehicle riders sustained injuries when a sub-inspector of Koral Police Station shot fired at a pickup on Friday afternoon.
The Koral Police, however, have registered First Information Report (FIR) but didn’t arrest the sub inspector involved in the shooting. One, Babar Hussain son of Mohammad Riaz resident of Tarlai Kakan, lodged a complaint with the Koral Police saying that he along with his friend Raja Masood was heading towards his home after attending a marriage ceremony when Sub-Inspector Salamat Hussain shot fire at his vehicle from right side, adding that the bullet crossed the door and hit both of them.
The complainant said that he informed Rescue police who shifted them to Poly Clinic. SSP (Operations) Mustafa Tanvir when contacted by this scribe for his comment, said that the Suzuki driver didn’t stop the vehicle when the sub-inspector signaled the driver to stop. He said that departmental inquiry against the SI has been initiated after lodging FIR against him, adding that he would be arrested if found guilty. SP (Rural) Rana Wahab said when contacted that the SI violated the SoP set by the police authorities, however, he would be dealt according to the law.
