LAHORE:Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the government is going to disclose corruption stories in the coming days along with the finance minister as PTI is the custodian of government money.

The government would soon disclose the salient features of the public transport project to the people to highlight its high cost and high recurring expenditures. The people will be astonished to know the corruption of Shahbaz Sharif in the transport sector, she said while addressing a press conference at 90-Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam along with LDA Vice Chairman SM Imran and Ravi Urban Development Authority Chairman Imran Amin.

Dr Firdous said no PTI member was interested in political instability and the party leaders could not detach themselves from the ideology of PM Imran Khan. The reservations of some party members would be removed soon, she said. She said the PTI had moved the country towards development and prosperity and every possible effort was being made to improve the quality of life of the people.

Ravi River city project is a huge initiative that would provide job opportunities to hundreds of thousands of youths. She said the past government looted the national resources in the name of development and, as a result, the resourceful Punjab province had been bankrupted. The so-called Sharif family of Jati Umra minted money from every project and their cronies also made hay. The special assistant to the chief minister said the economically developed historical city of Lahore succumbed to a spate of corruption in the past and, as a result, it faced huge problems. Resources were wasted on some specific projects and the corrupt mafia had looted the country for 10 long years. On the other side, Prime Minister Imran Khan is a custodian of resources and he was personally monitoring the affairs of RUDA, she said. Dr Firdous said the bidding process for the development of the first phase of ‘Saphire Bay’ had been completed. This project is important for boosting economy by providing job opportunities and attracting investment, adding that this was a journey towards positive change.

The SACM said several electricity feeders tripped due to inclement weather the other day. Actually, the system of electricity distribution is also imperative along with electricity generation, she added. To a question, the SACM said the Ali Zahar’s report was not linked with any particular person or mill owner as Ali Zafar was assigned the task with the legal aspects of the technical report. The recommendations will be implemented as per the law. No one is allowed to point finger at the religious beliefs of others and parliamentarians are needed to be very careful in this regard, concluded the SACM.
