Locals robbed of cash, valuables in 20 strikes

GUJRANWALA: Locals were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, motorcycles and other valuables on Friday in 20 strikes by robbers.

In Alipur Chattha locality, gunmen intercepted Liaqat and his wife and snatched Rs 33,000, gold ornaments and two cellphones. In Sadr Kamoke area two robbers snatched Rs 21,000, gold ornaments and a cellphone from Abdul Wahid and his wife.

Naveed and his wife were deprived of Rs 14,000 and gold ornaments in Ahmadnagar locality.

At Ferozewala dacoits intercepted Naseem and his wife and deprived them of Rs 15,000 and gold ornaments.

In Aroop locality, bandits snatched Rs 7,000, gold ornaments and a cellphone from Azhar and his wife.

Asif was deprived of Rs 12,000 and a cellphone and Khurram was deprived of Rs 6,000 and two cellphones in the Aroop locality.

In Dhulley locality, gunmen took away a new motorcycle of Usman.

Robbers snatched Rs 10,000 from Azam in the Peoples Colony area.

A car No GA-898 of Muqeem was stolen from Wazirabad.

New motorcycles of Rashid, Farhan, Chand, Furqan, Fahad, Mujahid, Dastgir and Jehangir were taken away from different areas of the city.

8 OF A FAMILY CONSUME TOXIC SWEETS: All family members of a man Friday ate toxic sweets and were rushed to hospital.

Javed, 27, Rimsha, 22, Nida, 20, Yasmeen, 30, Aqsa, 18, Kashif, 24, Sajjad 22, and Awais, 21 ate the sweets with milk and felt severe pain in stomachs and were shifted to DHQ hospital.

PO HELD: A proclaimed offender of power cases was arrested by the Gepco team.

The PO Raja Naeem Nawaz was involved in electricity theft cases and was arrested when a Gepco team visited Sarai Alamgir, Gujrat, localities.

DIES IN ACCIDENT: An unidentified man was found dead in a road accident on GT road near Gakhar Mandi. The deceased was crossing the road when a bus hit him.
