Mirza warns of launching protest movement if Rangers’ power curtailed
BADIN: Former Sindh home minister and estranged PPP leader Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has warned of a protest movement if complete powers were not delegated to the Rangers to curb financing of terrorism and to check corruption.
He also lauded the efforts of Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, the Pakistan Army and the Rangers for maintaining the law and order in Karachi and other parts of the province.
Addressing a big rally taken out in Talhar town in connection with the Culture Day on Friday, he assured all the patriotic forces of his full support in their fight against the corrupt elements.
He said that the functionaries of Sindh government who were not extending powers to the Rangers in the province were in fact committing a crime.
Dr Mirza, talking to local journalists, said that he was with the patriotic Pakistani forces, who he said were trying to purge the Sindh province of all the corrupt, unscrupulous elements and evil forces.
He said that his fight with the anti-Pakistan forces would continue till his death.
Dr Mirza claimed that he and his allies would easily form the district government after winning the remaining four UCs and two town committees adding that his opponents in Badin and elsewhere were daydreaming to defeat him by purchasing the votes of the people in the remaining areas.
He warned them of dire consequences if their mandate was stolen or snatched by using foul tactics.
Dr Mirza condemned the brutal use of force on
the protesting growers in Karachi, who were demanding proper rates of their commodities.
Raees Imdad Nizamani and Raees Zaffer Nizamani, who had recently joined Dr Zulfiqar Mirza after leaving the PPP, were also present on the occasion.
