As the severe cold followed by winters hit Federal Capital and Rawalpindi in the evening, citizens of the twin cities throng local markets in search of woollies including shawls, sweaters, jackets, woollen caps, gloves.
People complained that shopkeepers were over-charging by taking advantage of the high demand for the winter items.A shopkeeper at Aabpara market, Riaz Khan, told APP that many customers coming to his shop to buy winter items, while the most frequent sale items were jackets, woollen caps and sweaters.
“I have fixed rates of the item according to the quality of the material.”A housewife Samina Khan said, “I mostly buy items for my children as they are schoolgoing kids so I had to buy gloves, woollen caps and jackets to protect them from the cold at early morning.”
