Apca to demonstrate in front of Civil Secretariat

FAISALABAD: The government employees of BPS-1 to BPS-16 will stage a demonstration in front of the Civil Secretariat, Lahore, if their demands were not accepted by the Punjab government.
This was said by All Pakistan Clerks Association (Apca) divisional president Syed Akhtar Ali Shaheen while addressing a protest meeting here on Thursday. He said that on consistent protest of the Apca, the Punjab government had accepted their demands two years ago but the notification had still not been issued. They said that if the government did not accept their demands even after a sit-in in Lahore, the clerks would agitate on roads throughout the province to press their demands.

Owners decide to close powerlooms two days a week

FAISALABAD: The Powerloom owners have decided to close down their factories for two days a week to express their anguish against the government for not accepting their genuine demands. This was announced by Council of Loom Owners Association chairman Waheed Khaliq Ramay in a meeting here.
He said that due to sharp decline in textiles exports, thousands of powerlooms in Faisalabad and other parts of the province had already been closed down. He demanded the government take immediate steps for revival of the powerloom sector otherwise they would be constrained to close down their factories permanently.
Jobless youth commits suicide

FAISALABAD: A jobless youth committed suicide at Rehman Town on Thursday.
Saqlain Ahmad had been jobless for the last many months. He was also ill. On the day of the incident, he ended his life by consuming poison. In another incident, Sana Bashir of Nazir Colony attempted suicide by drinking bleach over a domestic dispute.
KILLER GETS DEATH: Additional Sessions Judge Abid Hussain Qureshi awarded life imprisonment and Rs 200,000 fine to Shahzad of Samanabad in a murder case. The prosecution said that the convict had killed his wife Fahmeeda Begum over a domestic dispute.
FIA Inspector’s bail rejected in abduction case

FAISALABAD: The FIA Court on Thursday rejected bail applications of FIA Inspector Asif Ali and Muhammad Aslam in abduction for ransom case. They had allegedly abducted Rana Jamshaid Ahmad for Rs 50 million ransom.
DEMO: The parents and relatives of a five-year-old girl, who was abducted by four people about six days ago, staged a demonstration on District Courts Road on Thursday.
They demanded immediate recovery of Sonia and arrest of the accused persons. Sonia was allegedly abducted by Usman and three others.
