Pak-Day celebrated across Punjab cities

NANKANA SAHIB: Pakistan Day was celebrated with national enthusiasm across the district

A flag-hoisting ceremony was held at Jimnaysiam Hall city Nankana where cops and Rescue-1122 staffers saluted the national flag.

A cake cutting ceremony was also arranged on the occasion. Special prayers were held for the development and prosperity of the country.

District Police Officer (DPO) Bilal Iftikhar, District Emergency Officer Muhammad Akram Panwaar, officers of district administration and a large number of citizens were also present on the occasion.

Later, the Sikh community held a cake ceremony to mark Pakistan Day at Gurdwara Janmasthan Nankana.

The DPO also participated in the event of the Sikh community. The Sikhs raised slogans in favour of Pakistan.

Punjabi Sikh Sangat chairman Sardar Gopal Singh Cawala and others were also present on the occasion.

LALAMUSA: The Pakistan Day was celebrated with national spirit and enthusiasm in Gujrat.

The main flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the DC Complex where Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saif Anwar Jappa, DPO Umar Salamat and MPA Mian Akhtar Hayat hoisted national flag.

ADCG Ansar Hayat, AC Salman Zafar, CEO Education Chaudhry Aurangzeb, DO Civil Defense Muhammad Ashfaq and people from different walks of life attended the event.

A similar event was also held at Police Lines, where the DC and the DPO were also present.

Attending the ceremony, the DC said our forefathers dreamed of an independent homeland under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said we should strive for the development and prosperity of the country.

He said we should follow the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the principles of unity faith and discipline should be the hallmarks of our policies.

He said by sticking to these golden principles we would become the great nation in the world.

MPA Mian Akhtar Hayat said Pakistan Day is a very important day in the history of the subcontinent and the Punjab government was taking effective steps for the development of province.

MALAKWAL: A flag-hosting ceremony was held at Municipal Committee office on Tuesday.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Usman Ghani and DSP Raja Fakhar Bashir hoisted the national flag.

A police squad saluted the national flag.

Addressing the event, the AC and the DSP stressed the need of forging unity for the prosperity of the country.

Several citizens from different walks of life attended the ceremony.

APP ADDS FROM SARGODHA: The Pakistan Day ceremony was held in the lawn of Commissioner Office in which DPO Zulfiqar Ahmed and DC Naila Baqir participated as the chief guests here on Tuesday.

DC Naila Baqir accompanied by DPO Zulfiqar Ahmed hoisted the flag on the occasion.

The DC said that March 23 was a great day in our national history. She said that on March 23 1940, the Muslims of India had determined their destiny and due to their hard struggle Pakistan came into being on August 14, 1947.

Naila said that today we had to renew the pledge that we would not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the security and survival of the country following in the footsteps of our elders.

Because of coronavirus, we all need to be careful, she added. DPO Zulfiqar Ahmed said that defense of Pakistan was undefeatable, adding that by reviving the spirit of Pakistan resolution we could achieve our goals.

The police band saluted the national flag at the ceremony. Ceremony was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bilal Feroz, Assistant Commissioner Omar Darz Gondal, Civil Defence Officer Zafar Ali Bhatti and Dr Haroon Rasheed Tabassum.

APP ADDS FROM SIALKOT: Deputy Commissioner Tahir Farooq hoisted the national flag to mark the Pakistan Day in a ceremony held at DC Complex here on Tuesday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Mir Muhammad Nawaz, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Farooq Akmal, COMCS Faisal Shehzad, District Emergency Officer (DEO) Naveed Iqbal and District Peace Committee Vice Chairman Hafiz Asghar Ali Cheema and Rescue wardens attended the ceremony.

After the flag hoisting and national anthem, special prayers were offered for the prosperity and development of the nation. Later, the DC addressed a meeting of MCS officers at Municipal Corporation Sialkot and reviewed the performance of various departments of MCS. He issued necessary instructions to improve the performance. The DC also inspected the fort park upgradation project.

APP ADDS FROM BAHAWALPUR: Islamia University of Bahawalpur Vice Chancellor Engr Prof Dr Athar Mahboob has said that the Pakistan Day

reminds us of the sincere commitment and constant struggle of the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent.

The VC said this in a message during a seminar held at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in connection with the Pakistan Day.

On this day, the Muslims of India, under the enthusiastic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, declared their struggle for a separate territory and the Pakistan Resolution was passed, he said.

He said that our forefathers changed the map of the world in just seven years by following the principles of unparalleled leadership and faith, unity and conviction. In the case of Pakistan, a new Islamic state emerged, he continued.

The VC said that on March 23 1940, the Muslims of the subcontinent held a historic meeting at Manto Park in Lahore which was now called Lahore Park.

He said the purpose of establishing Pakistan was that the Muslims of the subcontinent should make your own decisions for the betterment of your religious and cultural identity and your future. We must work together as Pakistanis for a brighter future, he added.

APP ADDS FROM FAISALABAD: SSP Operations Muhammad Afzal along with other police officers laid floral wreaths on the graves of martyrs of the police department at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to mark the Pakistan Day here on Tuesday.

The SSP Operations on special direction of City Police Officer (CPO) Capt (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhary went to the martyrs’ monument at Shuhada Chowk where active guards of the police department presented a salute. Later, the SSP Operations along with other police officers laid floral wreaths on the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha.

Talking to media persons, he said that Pakistan was achieved after great struggle and now armed forces were presenting their sacrifices for the motherland.

He said that more than 100 police officials laid down their lives by fighting against the criminals only to provide safety and security to the lives and properties of the masses.

He said that martyrs were proud for the police department and their sacrifices would not be forgotten.

He said that police department would also remember families of the Shuhada and support them at all forums in addition to assisting them financially.

Police Jawans had also supported armed forces for war against terrorism and police really understand that its first and foremost duty was to save and protect the country from internal as well as external enemies, he added.
