The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has asked the Finance Division for Rs140 million to pay salaries to the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) employees long working on daily wage basis.
According to Minister of State for CADD Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, the division has sought Rs140 million supplementary grant for payment of salary to FDE daily wagers, both teaching and non-teaching employees.
The FDE is currently placed under the administrative control of the CADD.
More than 1,110 people have long been working with the FDE-run model colleges on daily wages.
They have been protesting in Islamabad for three weeks against non-payment of salary and regularisation of services.
The minister said the cases of daily wagers for permanent job would be examined in line with the recommendations of a panel looking into the matter.
