PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday acquitted six accused convicted by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in a kidnapping case.
The accused Zakir, Liaqat, Yasir, Hazrat Hussain, Shafiullah and Gul Mohammad were arrested and convicted by a local court for kidnapping one Asif and robbing him of Rs2.7 million.
The lawyer of the accused argued that his clients were innocent as the investigation into the case had created doubts about the entire procedure. A division bench of the court comprising Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth and Justice Musarrat Hilali acquitted the accused after hearing the arguments.
