Baby girl found abandoned in hospital

An unidentified woman left a one-month-old baby girl at the Lahore General Hospital’s Surgical Emergency Ward here on Monday and disappeared. The woman had entered Surgical Emergency Ward and put her baby on a bed. She went out saying that she was going to get token. However, even after one hour, she did not come back upon which the hospital administration was informed about the incident. The Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Principal Prof Khalid Mahmood directed the hospital staff to get the baby admitted to Nursery Ward to be taken care of. As the news about the baby girl spread, many issueless couples approached the LGH administration to adopt the baby but the principal said the decision would be taken in this regard according to the law, reads a press release issued on Monday. Earlier, in April this year, two women had left a newborn at the LGH and disappeared.
Three found dead: A 40-year-old man was recovered dead from Lorry Adda police limits on Monday. Police have removed the body to morgue for autopsy. The victim, yet to be identified, was lying dead near Haider Saeen Chowk. Police shifted him to the hospital where doctors pronounced him as brought dead. Police said the victim looked like a drug-addict. However, autopsy will help ascertain the cause of death. Meanwhile, two unidentified persons were recovered dead from Data Darbar police limits. Police have removed bodies to morgue for autopsy.
