The residents of Dir staged a protest demonstration here on Friday under the aegis of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) against non-issuance of notification of success of JI candidate in the bye-election.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with demands for issuance of a notification of success of JI candidate Aizazul Mulk from KP Assembly constituency PK-95. JI Islamabad Ameer Zubair Farooq Khan and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders coming from Dir addressed the protesters.
The speakers said that biased behaviour was being meted out with the JI candidate, Aizazul Mulk, from PK-95 and the concerned authorities were reluctant to issue a notification of his success in the bye-election.
They said the notification has been stopped without any justification and people of PK-95 are deprived of their representation in the provincial assembly.
They said that they would continue their protest in Islamabad and elsewhere in the KP till the time the Election Commission of Pakistan notifies him as member of the KP Assembly. The protesters marched up to Nadra Chowk.
