Annual ‘Tectiqs’ spell begins at Iqra University

The annual national-level competition titled ‘Tectiqs’ started at Iqra University here on Thursday. This year, more than 800 teams involving about 3,500 participants from 60 different schools, colleges and universities of twin cities, Lahore, Karachi and some other parts of the country are participating in the fifth edition of the contest, says a press release.
The four-day ‘Tectiqs’ is a compilation of some 45 different competitions segregated into the categories of Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Debates, Dramatics, Media, Singing, Fashion, Sports and E-Gaming besides some General and Social events. Tectiqs’15 is an inspiration for every shade and allows the students to test their mettle both physically and mentally.
Dr Muhammad Islam, dean and director of the Iqra University, inaugurated the event which was followed by different competitions including, Thief Jack for school children, Hotel Hill View’s Brain Maniac, Business Case Visual, Gen’s Entrepreneur’s Challenge Cup, Junior Engineer, Tour de Nature’s Brain Drain, Poster Designing on the theme “Education for All” by Plan International and Ideas for Life Trust, Futsal tournament, Photography and Ideal Candidate Hunt.
Stage play and art performances prepared by the students of Iqra University were held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the first social-night of the event while the mega entertainment night will be held on Saturday.
Different stalls are also showcasing handicraft, jewellery and items of clothing besides food and beverages. Clash of Cartels, Spirit of the west, Counter Strike, DOTA, Call of Duty, Logic Bees, Dubsmash, Ad Making, Debug Police, AKS Fashion Fiesta, MATLAB Master, Stage It and What’s the Fact behind the Act will be held on the second day of the competition whereas prize distribution ceremony will be held on the last day of the competition on Sunday.
