GUJRANWALA: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Amir Jaan Wednesday halted payment to the contractor of Katcha Khiali Jinnah road over using substandard material.
The DCO asked the relevant authorities to halt the payment after visiting the said road.
District Officer Planning and Development Muzaffar Khan, District Officer Roads Shahid Manzoor, District Officer Building Qasim Iftikhar and other officers were also present on the occasion.
During inspection it was revealed that other material and iron rods were not manufactured by the government approved firms.
The DCO asked the district officer roads to send the sample of the road to the laboratory and halt payment to the contractor until the result of the report.
