CHAKWAL: HEC Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed Monday said Rs 52 million have been approved for the UET Chakwal campus.
During his visit to Balkasar campus, Dr Mukhtar said and infrastructure for petroleum faculty would be established at Balkasar and in this regard more than 940 canal land have been purchased and the classes at this faculty would be started after two years.
Chairman Senate Committee of defence production Lt-Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum was also with him.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Naiz Ahmed told the HEC chairman that PC 1 for another faculty was prepared and after the functioning of four facilities at Chakwal campus, it would be converted into a complete engineering university.
Dr Mukhtar announced Rs 20 million for library and transport facility for the varsity.
Later, Dr Mukhtar visited the Government College of Technology, Thoa Bahadur and was briefed by its principal Muhammad Arif.
He also visited the Government Post Graduate College Chakwal where he was welcomed by the college principal.
Dr Mukhtar also talked to Punjab University Vice-Chancellor and asked him to start an immediate work of the PU campus at Chakwal and the HEC is ready to provide Rs 20 million for the infrastructure. The HEC chairman distributed two cheques among two brilliant students.
