HAFIZABAD: PML-N district general secretary Haji Jamshed Abbas Taheem has condemned the DPO and the City police SHO for allegedly spoiling the peaceful atmosphere in the district particularly in the City police limits by giving free hand to the PTI workers to create law and order situation.
Addressing a press conference at the PML-N Secretariat here on Friday, the PML-N leader said that 40 armed workers of the PTI led by Zohaib Malik and Zaheer Malik, a candidate for general councillor slot, allegedly attacked the election office of Muhammad Asif Chattha, a candidate for general councillor slot from Ward No 21, and allegedly opened indiscriminate fire to harass Asif and his supporters. Luckily no one was hurt, he added. However, he continued, despite being informed, the City police did not arrest the accused persons and were reluctant to register a case against them. He warned that if any worker of the PML-N was hurt or killed, then the DPO and the City police SHO would be held responsible. He demanded the IGP and other authorities take notice of the issue. Meanwhile, the police sources denied the allegations levelled by Haji Jamshed Abbas and others and told that the police were performing duty with honesty and on merit.
