GUJRANWALA: Candidates are allegedly violating the election code of conduct during their campaign for the local government elections in the district.
The candidates are violating the code of conduct by using loudspeakers, holding rallies, blocking streets and roads, displaying huge banners and hoardings throughout the city. The candidates are also spending huge money on electioneering. The district returning officer has already directed the authorities concerned to ensure the implementation of code of conduct and for removal of oversize banners and hoardings but no action is being taken in this regard.
The people have demanded the district administration take action in this regard and direct the candidates to strictly follow the code of conduct.
