The OPF Girls College, F-8/2, held its 24th oath-taking ceremony here on Thursday.
Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development SEcretary Khizar Hayat Khan was the chief guest.
Following recitation of the Holy Quran, the programme was formally started with the college choir’s spectacular performance of the college anthem which embodies the aims, objectives and faith of the college. The college anthem was followed by the principal’s speech.
In her welcome address, Shahina Masood highlighted the academic and co-curricular achievements of the students. She shed light on various activities that the students of the college have been partaking in during the course of the previous academic year.
Khizar Hayat Khan administered oath of all council members through the course of the ceremony. A smooth transition of power was effected during the occasion where power was shifted from the hands of the former president, Amna Khan, to the newly elected president, Eesha Kaiser, who also addressed the house after taking over the office.
The elected body of the Students’ Council comprised President, Eesha Kaiser, Vice President, Nayyab Humayun Kiani, General Secretary, Maham Kamran, Joint Secretary, Hajra Asad and Additional Secretary, Eman binte Hafeez.
Apart from the elected office bearers; class prefects, presidents and vice presidents of the respective societies took the oath and were sworn into the Students’ Council 2015-2016.
To conclude the ceremony, Khizar Hayat Khan, took centre-stage in pointing out and admiring the achievements of the students of the college.
