Swat University develops major cracks due to quake

May not be fit for use

PESHAWAR: The Swat University would be unable to use its existing building after major cracks developed in it due to the impact of the massive earthquake on Monday.
In case no alternate place is made available for the university, the education of the 3,500 students studying in its 28 departments would be disrupted.
The Swat University’s Registrar Mahboobur Rahman told reporters that the building had developed major cracks due to the earthquake. “The building’s upper stories have been badly damaged. It is now a dangerous building and it won’t be possible to use it anymore.
The rented building of Swat University is located in Odigram near Mingora on the main Swat road.
