In view of expanding relief efforts in the earthquake-hit areas, a team of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) under the supervision of Professor Adibul Hasan Rizvi has reached Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital of Swat.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, a 12-member team comprising surgeons, nephrologists, hematologists, intensive care specialists and technicians would render surgical support and intensive care management to the injured victims.
After the October 2005 earthquake, the SIUT had also provided medical relief to the affected population of Abbottabad and Mansehra, besides establishing a dialysis centre in Muzaffarabad, which has been providing free of cost dialysis facilities to the patients of Azad Kashmir and adjoining areas for the past 10 years.
