In a one-to-one meeting at CM house on Thursday, the advisor on religious affairs, Dr Abdul Qayyum Soomro informed Syed Qaim Ali Shah; a complaint cell was established by his department and would be serviceable during the three sacred days of Muharram i.e. 8th, 9th, and 10th.
The concerned public could reach the complaint cell for registering their grievances regarding violation of code of ethics recommended by the government for organisations and individuals during the holy month.
The complaint cell numbers were: 0213-99222889 and 0213-99222850.
With a pillion-riding ban enforced and a significant deployment of security personnel, the provincial government seems to be all geared up for Ashura. The home department will also coordinate with the federal government to ensure that cell phone services remain suspended on the 10th of Muharram.
Besides Karachi, the services will be suspended in other districts including Benazirabad, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, and Shikarpur.
CM Qaim Ali Shah, in a recent meeting to review the security plan for Muharram, had pointed out that banned outfits were emerging with new names and police, Rangers and intelligence agencies must monitor their activities closely during Muharram.
