The vice-chancellors of the University of Karachi and the Sindh Madressatul Islam University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday.
In a statement, it said the two agreed collaboration would bring about more fruitful results in the field of research and education in both the universities as the working and sharing of knowledge and experience for the larger benefit of institutional growth and prosperity was a dire need of today.
Professor Dr Alia Rehman, the director of office of research, innovation and commercialization, said joint scientific and research activities would be designed for closer contacts between the students and the faculty of the varsities.
Karachi University Registrar Professor Dr Moazzam Ali Khan termed the signing of the MoU “historic”, and said the SMIU was a prestigious educational institution which was formed by visionary scholar Hasan Afandi for the Muslims of Sindh.
