PESHAWAR: The elected representatives and local elders of Spin Kanay Village Council, Ziarat Kaka Sahib, in Nowshera on Sunday asked the authorities concerned to install new distribution transformers to address low voltage problem.
Talking to The News, newly-elected nazim Hayat Sher said that Spin Kanay Village Council was situated in the constituency of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, who had assured that basic facilities would be provided to the entire PK-13 irrespective of political affiliations of the local people. “Even his brother Liaqat Khattak, who is now district nazim of Nowshera, had announced the provision of four new transformers during his election campaign, but he too failed to honour his pledge,” said Hayat Sher, who was elected on Jamiat Ulema-i- Islam-Fazl ticket in the local government elections. The elders of the village council said that contrary to the claims of provincial government, the patwari had no office in the village and the residents had to cover a long distance to visit his rented office in Amangarh in Nowshera.
