The Secretary School Education Department (SED) Punjab has ordered a fresh inquiry into the removal of Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) President, it is learnt.
PTU President Sajjad Kazmi was removed from the service last year. Meanwhile, in a press release issued on Tuesday, the PTU leaders including Rana Liaqat and others have termed it a victory of truth and claimed Sajjad Kazmi had been reinstated in the service.
overcharging: The city district government started a campaign against overcharging at cinemas, parks and other entertainment places on Tuesday.
A special team of CDGL under the supervision of Akbar Amin Chopra, District Officer Monitoring, visited Alfalah Theatre on The Mall. The team found that mineral water, chips, cold drinks and other snacks were being sold at very high prices.
The team arrested M Azam and M Ali for overcharging and awarded them on the spot a three-day imprisonment using magisterial powers. They were handed over to Qila Gujjar Singh Police. The officials said similar raids will be carried out at other high end places and no one would be allowed to sell packed items at high rates.
