On the directives of the chief executive officer, Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, Dr. Saima Shah, the enforcement staff Friday carried out an effective operation against the encroachers at different places falling in the vicinity of Rawalpindi Cantonment.
Prior to the operation, the CEO after taking over charge of her office had been paying surprise visits to assess the overall condition of the RCB localities.
On finding existence of mound of encroachments in several markets, roads, she ordered the enforcement section to devise a well-knit strategy for removing encroachers which not only created traffic suspension but also spoiled the look of the cantonment.
As per directives, the enforcement squad led by Incharge, Hamid, along with police personnel carried out effective drive at Kamran Market, Misrial Road, Naseerabad, Tench Bhatta, Peoples Colony and Kamran Market.
During action, the enforcement staff while returning the belongings of the encroachers seized more than 36 push carts and other encroaching goods. During the process of drive, many of the encroachers managed to slip away from the scene by taking their push carts in streets.
The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board besides confiscating push carts also forwarded the cases of encroachers in the court of judicial magistrate.
