An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) for the arrest of the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Sachal police station over his failure to follow court orders.
The court ruled that SHO Shoaib Shaikh had failed to assist the court in prosecution matters as he had, despite court orders, failed to produce a witness in the cases against an alleged killer and extortionist, Abdullah. The court had earlier issued notices to the SHO to appear in court and also bring the witness. Following his persistent failure to comply with the orders, the court finally issued an NBW and ordered the relevant DIGP to ensure his arrest and production in court at the next hearing on October 27.
