Those selling biscuits, soap, ghee now in journalism: Saad

LAHORE: Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on Wednesday said the billionaires selling biscuits, soap, ghee and oil had jumped into the media industry, adding that they didn’t have any knowledge about the basics of journalism.
However, he said, they had great respect for those anchor persons and media house owners who started their journalism career from reporting.
Addressing a gathering in connection with Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s election campaign for NA-122 by-poll, Saad said some TV anchors earning millions not having any connection with journalism hatched conspiracies every night on TV screens. Just like Imran Khan, they too could not digest development and progress of the country and criticised the government without any reason, he added.
Saad said PTI Chairman Imran Khan would not be allowed to mislead the people of Lahore through his lies. The minister said he had started participating in the election campaign after the court allowed it, dispelling Imran’s accusation that he had violated the law.
Saad asked Imran to provide proof regarding the allegation that he had distributed Pakistan Railways jobs for his political gains.
Calling Imran “Ilzam Khan”, he said somebody living in a 300-kanal home at Bani Gala should tell the people how much tax he was paying.
He said the workers and the people of Pakistan had been a witness to how the PML-N had turned around the sinking ship of Railways over the last two-and-a-half years and that’s why they would vote for the PML-N.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who was also present on the occasion, challenged Imran that he would defeat the PTI with twice as much lead than the last time round in 2013.
