PIA air tragedy: Martyred bureaucrat Khalid Sherdil remembered

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Administrative Services Association (PASA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday held a condolence reference for senior bureaucrat Khalid Sherdil, who embraced martyrdom in the PIA air tragedy.

Shahab Ali Shah, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Secretary Information Yahya Akhunzada, Secretary Finance Atif Khan, Secretary Administration Zahir Shah, Secretary Food Nisar Ahmad, Secretary Higher Education Commission Hassan Yousafzai and other officials attended the reference, said a communique.

On the occasion, the participants prayed for late Khalid Sherdil and paid tributes to him for his services as a civil servant. While paying homage to late Khalid Sherdil, Secretary Administration Zahir Shah said that he was a polite man.

He remarked that his services would be remembered forever. The participants said that Khalid Sherdil was a competent and hardworking bureaucrat and his services are unforgettable. They stated that he proved himself as a role model for junior officers. Khalid Sherdil served on various positions. After the October 2005 earthquake, his role in post–earthquake situation as an administrator was prominent. They noted that Khalid Sherdil also served on the forefront in the campaign against dengue and coronavirus. The participants also paid homage to all frontline heroes including military personnel in the ongoing campaign to contain the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
